Registrations
2 answersWhich business structure should I choose?
It depends on your goals. A Private Limited Company suits founders raising funds and wanting limited liability; an LLP fits professional partnerships wanting lighter compliance; an OPC works for solo founders who still want a corporate identity; a partnership firm suits two or more people who want written terms without company filings; and a sole proprietorship is the fastest, simplest way to start. We can walk you through the trade-offs for your situation.
What documents do I need to register a company?
Typically PAN and Aadhaar of the directors or partners, passport-size photos, proof of registered office address (a utility bill plus a no-objection certificate or rent agreement), and bank statements. We share an exact checklist once we know which structure you're choosing. Getting scans right the first time is the single biggest thing that keeps an application moving.
Tax & Compliance
5 answersDo I need GST registration?
GST registration is generally mandatory once your aggregate turnover crosses the threshold (broadly ₹40 lakh for goods or ₹20 lakh for services, lower in special-category states), or if you sell inter-state or through e-commerce platforms. Some businesses register voluntarily to claim input tax credit. Thresholds can change, so we confirm your specific case.
How often do I have to file GST returns?
Most regular taxpayers file monthly returns (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B), plus an annual return (GSTR-9). Some small taxpayers qualify for the quarterly QRMP scheme, and composition-scheme taxpayers file quarterly with an annual return. We set up the right cadence for you.
When is the income-tax return (ITR) filing deadline?
For most individuals who don't require an audit, the due date is generally 31 July of the assessment year. For taxpayers requiring a tax audit it is typically 31 October. The government can extend these dates, so we always confirm the current deadline before filing.
Should I choose the old or the new tax regime?
It depends on your deductions and investments. The old regime rewards deductions like 80C, 80D, and HRA; the new regime offers lower slab rates but fewer deductions. We compare both for your numbers and recommend whichever results in lower tax for the year.
What annual compliance does my company need to do?
Companies and LLPs must file annual returns and financial statements with the MCA (such as AOC-4 and MGT-7 for companies), complete director KYC, and maintain statutory registers — even in a year with no operations. Missing these attracts daily additional fees, so we track the due dates for you.
Trademark & IP
1 answerHow long does a trademark take, and can you guarantee it?
We can usually file within a few working days, and you may use the ™ symbol from the moment the application goes in. After that the Trade Marks Registry sets the pace — examination, publication, and registration commonly take a year or more, and the ® symbol can only be used once registration is actually granted. No one can guarantee acceptance: the Registry examines every mark and can object, which is why we run a search and give you an honest read before you spend.
Licences
1 answerWhich licences and registrations does my business need?
It depends on what you do and where. Common ones are Udyam (MSME) for small-business benefits, a Shop & Establishment registration for premises with staff, an FSSAI licence for anything involving food, and an Import-Export Code before goods cross the border. Tell us your activity and state and we'll tell you which apply — including the ones you can skip.
General
7 answersAre government fees included in your prices?
No. Every amount on this site is our professional fee only. Government and statutory charges — MCA filing fees, state stamp duty, Trade Marks Registry fees, licence fees — are charged separately at actuals, and each service page says which ones apply and what makes them vary. Some filings, such as GST registration and Udyam, carry no government fee at all, and we say so rather than quietly bundling a margin in.
How long will my work actually take?
Each service page gives a timeline split into two parts: our turnaround, which we control, and the authority's processing, which we don't. We can prepare and file a company incorporation in a few days, but the certificate arrives when the MCA processes it; a trademark is filed in days but examined over months. Anyone promising a government approval by a fixed date is guessing.
Will I actually deal with a chartered accountant?
Yes. We're a small ICAI-registered practice, not a call centre — you talk to the chartered accountant who does your work, and you keep the same point of contact through the engagement. That's the main practical difference between us and a large filing portal, and it's why our answers come with reasoning rather than a status code.
Is the whole process online, or do I need to visit an office?
Almost everything is online. Filings go through the MCA, GST, income-tax, and other government portals, documents are shared digitally, and most income-tax proceedings are now faceless. A few things still need you in person — signing certain documents, occasional bank formalities, or an inspection for some licences — and we flag those upfront rather than at the end.
What happens to the information I share with you?
We collect only what a filing or a question actually needs, use it for that purpose, and don't sell or share it for marketing. Contact details submitted through this site are stored with your explicit consent under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. Please don't paste PAN, Aadhaar, or bank details into the AI advisor chat — send documents to us directly instead.
What does the AI advisor do, and what can't it do?
It answers plain-English questions about registration, GST, income tax, and compliance, and points you to the service package that fits — drawing on the same information published on this site. It is general guidance, not binding professional advice, it doesn't know your books or your history, and it can be wrong. For anything with money or a deadline attached, a chartered accountant here reviews it before you act.
What if I change my mind after paying?
If we haven't started work, we refund the professional fee in full. Once work is under way we refund the unused portion, based on what's actually been done. Government fees already paid to an authority can't be refunded by us — those follow that authority's own rules — and a rejected application isn't automatically a refundable one, so we tell you the risks before we file.
Still stuck
Not sure what applies to you?
Describe the situation in a sentence. The advisor works through it with you, and a chartered accountant picks it up from there.
