Scope

What’s included

  • Review of what has changed and whether it is a core or non-core amendment
  • Preparation and filing of the amendment application (REG-14)
  • Cancellation application (REG-16) where you are closing the registration
  • Filing of the final return (GSTR-10) on cancellation
  • Responses to departmental queries on the application
  • Guidance on revocation where an officer has cancelled a registration

Everything above is covered by the professional fee. Anything outside it is quoted before we start it, never after.

Who it suits

Businesses that have moved premises, changed partners or activity, or stopped operating under a GSTIN.

If that does not describe you, say so before you commit — there is usually a lighter filing that does the job, and we would rather point you at it.

Cost

What it costs

Our professional fee

from ₹1,999

no government fee for this filing

What we charge for the work itself — preparing your paperwork, filing it, and following it through to the authority's response. Confirmed in writing before anything starts.

Government & statutory fees

None

This filing is free on the government portal — the authority charges nothing for it. You are paying us for the work only, and you are free to file it yourself if you would rather.

Professional fees only. The department charges no fee for amendment or cancellation applications. Any tax, interest, or late fee outstanding before cancellation is paid by you at actuals.

Our fee is the only cost here. It is indicative pending confirmation, and you will have it in writing before you decide.

Process

How it runs

  1. Scope and quote

We confirm what you actually need, what our professional fee covers, and which government fees will apply in your case — in writing, before any work begins.

  2. Documents

We send a checklist, then review everything you send back before it goes anywhere. Most delays start with a document, not with the authority.

  3. Preparation and filing

We prepare and file the GST Amendment & Cancellation paperwork, then track the application and respond to any queries raised on it.

Filed in 2–4 working days; approval follows the department's own review, which commonly runs a few weeks.

  4. Handover

You receive every acknowledgement and certificate the authority issues, along with a plain-English note on what falls due next and when.

Processing time is set by the relevant authority, not by us. We can file promptly and follow up, but the approval itself sits with the department handling it.

Questions

Asked before you asked

  • Can I just stop filing instead of cancelling?

No. A live GSTIN keeps accruing return obligations and late fees even with no sales, and can end in an officer-initiated cancellation. Cancelling properly closes it.

  • My registration was cancelled by the officer — can it be restored?

Often yes, through a revocation application filed within the prescribed window and usually after the pending returns are filed. We assess your case and apply.

  • Which changes need an amendment?

Address, business activity, partners or directors, contact details, and additional places of business. Some update automatically; core changes go to an officer for approval.

AI advisor

Ask before you commit to anything.

Ask about the fee, the documents, or whether GST Amendment & Cancellation is the right filing for your situation — in plain English, and you get the answer before you get a recommendation.

The advisor gives general guidance, not binding legal or tax advice, and it does not file anything on your behalf. A chartered accountant reviews anything that matters.
